Miranda Avant-Elliott, Ed.D., of St. Louis is the director of Fresh Start Academy.

 

Dr. Avant-Elliott has served as a Missouri public school educator for more than 16 years, and is licensed as a teacher, secondary principal, superintendent, and career and technical education director. She  previously served as college and career readiness director for Jennings School District., and as a career and technical education administrator with Kansas City Public Schools.

 

Dr. Avant-Elliott earned her doctorate in education with a specialty in leadership from Saint Louis University. She also holds master’s degrees in both special education (Webster University) and education with an emphasis on urban leadership (Maryville University). Her bachelor’s degree in accounting is from Clark Atlanta University.
